EDF Energy Renewables is proud to announce that it has achieved three key delivery milestones for the Fallago Rig onshore wind farm, with the completion of the installation of all turbines, site and turbine energisation and first power output from the site.

Operator EDF Energy Renewables has now completed the installation of the towers, nacelles and rotor blades of all 48 3MW wind turbine generators to be erected on the 144MW scheme. In addition, the connection to the Scottish Power transmission network was energised on 13 January and commissioning of the turbines has commenced, resulting in first power generation and export to the National Grid on 24 January.

The wind farm, located in the Scottish Borders 50km South East of Edinburgh, is the largest UK onshore wind farm to be built by EDF Energy Renewables and the second largest EDF ER wind farm in Europe.
