EDF ENERGY RENEWABLES WITHDRAWS APPEAL ON PROPOSED BULLINGTON CROSS WIND FARM
EDF Energy Renewables has confirmed that it is withdrawing its appeal against the decision of three Hampshire councils to refuse planning permission for a proposed wind farm near Bullington Cross.
After reviewing the scheme in the light of recent government announcements on onshore wind, the company has told the Government’s Planning Inspectorate that it will not be proceeding with the appeal hearing scheduled for later this year.
The Bullington Cross wind farm proposal involved the development of a 14 turbine, 28 MW wind farm on agricultural land to the north of the A303.
In June 2014 the planning committees of Winchester, Test Valley and Basingstoke and Deane councils turned down EDF Energy Renewables’ application and the company announced its intention to appeal against the decision in December 2014.
